- Name and email address when you register
- Date of birth, time of birth, and city of birth — needed to generate your Vedic birth chart
- Language preference (English or Hindi)
- Payment information — processed entirely by Razorpay; we never see your card or UPI details
Collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, session duration
- Device information — browser type, OS, IP address
- Chat history — stored to provide continuity and enforce daily usage limits
From third parties
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email only. We never receive your Google password.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To calculate and display your personalised Vedic birth chart and all readings
- To generate daily, weekly, and yearly forecasts
- To power Pandit Shastri AI responses with your chart context
- To send your account confirmation and yearly PDF report if purchased
- To process payments through Razorpay
- To enforce rate limits and subscription access levels
- To improve our ephemeris accuracy and application performance
We do not use your birth data for advertising or any purpose not described above.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secured servers in India with TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit and at rest. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Your birth data is used only to generate your astrological readings and is never shared, sold, or used for any other purpose.
5. Third-Party Services
- Anthropic (Claude AI): We send your birth chart summary and planetary data to generate readings. Anthropic processes this per their API policies.
- Razorpay: Payment processing. Subject to Razorpay privacy policy.
- Google OAuth: Optional sign-in. Subject to Google privacy policy.
6. Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Correction: Update your details from your profile settings
- Deletion: Delete your account and all data from profile settings or by emailing us
- Portability: Request your data in machine-readable format
7. Cookies
We use a single authentication cookie (kaalvid_token) to keep you signed in. HTTP-only, secure, expires after 30 days. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will notify registered users by email for material changes.
